UNC Chapel Hill Residence Halls, Phase I
Phase I of the Residence Halls project at UNC Chapel Hill consisted of individual residence halls on four separate sites located within blocks of one another. One of the Residence Halls is 4-story, two are 5-story and the fourth is 6-story and together they house 962 students. This project presented unique challenges due to the concurrent construction of the four separate facilities on the busy, congested UNC campus. Scheduling of work required a high level of coordination and cooperation between all stakeholders. The project had very limited staging and parking areas on site and massive amounts of rock wasencountered on the site.
