This project included resurfacing a 14-mile stretch of highway from Interstate 40 to Beaulaville in Southeastern North Carolina.  Barnhill Contracting Company’s scope of work on the project included resurfacing with 66,000 tons of asphalt which was produced in the Kenansville plant.  Two layers of asphalt were placed – 2 ½ inches of intermediate course and the surface course.  Barnhill received the maximum credit for rideability on this job, which exceeded 90% of the goal.
