University of North Carolina at Wilmington Fisher Student Union Central Energy Plant
The UNCW Fisher Student Union project included the construction of a 6,500 SF central energy plant connected to the Burney Center with associated underground mechanical utility line installation to underground valve boxes at the existing University Union Building and new Student Center Building structure.
The Fisher Student Union at UNC Wilmington consists of 65,643 SF, including a 400-seat movie theater, open café server with 60 seats, full-service kitchen game room, 11,400-SF bookstore space, as well as meeting rooms and information desks. This project also included construction of the Burney Center, which features a 9,300-SF ballroom capable of seating up to 1,000 guests and a large lobby area which serves as a prefunction space as well as two green rooms and an office to support university events.
