Duke Medical Associates is the sole tenant for this 12-story office building situated on 2.5 acres in Durham, NC. The building structure consists of two floors of poured-in-place concrete with a streel structure above. The exterior is precast concrete and masonry. Adjoining the building is a 1,100-space poured-in-place concrete parking structure with an auditorium under the structure.
Hock Plaza was completed under a CM Agency contract between Barnhill and Hock Development. While Hock Development maintained the subcontracts, Barnhill assisted them in the buy-out process of those contracts. Barnhill was responsible for project scheduling and site management. Site management was integral to the project’s success and presented a challenge due to urban setting which allowed for limited staging and laydown area.
