GOLDSBORO BYPASS

Barnhill Contracting Company is acting as the prime contractor for the first phase of the Goldsboro Bypass. The roadway is part of a planned four-lane divided highway that will carry travelers from Clayton to the coast of North Carolina faster. This section of the Bypass measures four miles, and is significant because it will tie existing 795 to Wayne Memorial Drive and has interchanges at US117. The project includes construction of 16 bridges and 2.6 million cubic meters of borrow material and 180,000 cubic meters of unclassified excavation.

This project was designed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Construction is expected to complete in 2011.
