Barnhill Contracting Company's Building Division provides construction services in the industrial, biotech, retail, mixed-use, hospitality, correctional and institutional markets. Contracting formats are diversified and include general construction, construction management, design/build and fast-track deliveries. Services include budget and estimating, scheduling, constructability analysis, value engineering, design/build, construction management, general construction and fast track delivery.
The Building Division is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina and has offices in Wilmington and Tarboro, North Carolina. Started in 1977, Barnhill's Building Division has grown into one of the most widely respected contractors and construction managers in the region. Notable projects include the North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh Convention Center and Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. The division has been honored with numerous awards including the Best Renovation and Restoration Project by Southeast Construction magazine for the Imperial Center for the Arts & Sciences project; the Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Award for Best Building Project in 2006 for the Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences; the Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Award for Best Building Project in 2001 for the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Winner of the IDEAS (Innovative Design and Excellence in Architecture with Steel) award for The Pavilion at Symphony Lake in 2002.
