Winner of the Carolinas Associated General Contractors Pinnacle Award for Best Building Project, 2001

This project consisted of an addition of a 1700-seat concert hall, 600-seat opera theater and stage and a 200-seat black box theater to the existing historic Memorial Auditorium. The Meymandi Concert Hall is an acoustically exact concrete and precast panel frame structure with structural steel panels. The Opera Theater is a heavy structural steel frame with precast wall panels and the Kennedy Theater is an addition of masonry with steel roof and a large structural steel skylight canopy.
