The 38,000-square foot Raleigh Housing Authority Office Building was part of a $30-million Hope VI Grant awarded to the City of Raleigh Housing Authority by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The grant included a complete redevelopment of 20 acres directly behind Peace College in downtown Raleigh. This project is the only Hope VI project in the history of the grant program to have been completed on time and within budget. Construction features a steel structure with metal studs and brick wythe exterior. Design features include exterior columns and metal roofed accent porches as well as a 2-story lobby with spiral staircase.
