MATTAMUSKEET LODGE

This historic renovation project consists of repairs and renovation of the 3-story, 25,000-square foot lodge at Lake Mattamuskeet. The structure uses steel-framed brick and wood and features a 118-foot tall observation tower that was converted from a smokestack during construction renovation in 1937. When completed, the Mattamuskeet Lodge will function as a public facility dedicated to conservation of the natural and cultural resources of the state of North Carolina. The project will be guided by an overall concept of sustainability throughout the design and construction process.
